Sorry, I've been MIA!

Life has taken me away from doing what I love. Hopefully June will be a nicer month that allows me to make my amigurumi.

Today's post is a quick one. I'm just sharing the translated tutorial for making an amineko cat for easier reading. So here it is.

Mouth/Muzzle

3. to 10. sc around (14)
11. *sc dc in each sc* around (7)

Fasten off and leave long tail to attach to face.

Assemble as pictured. While head is still un-stuffed, embroider the eyes. I make mine between the 10th and 11th row, counting from top of head, down.

Attach the muzzle (with nose and mouth embroidered) right below eyes. Use pictures as guides.

Note about the feet and arms: I start with the ‘paw’ color, then, at the decrease, I change to the cat’s main color.

Adding pellets to the body, arms, and legs is optional, but it makes great to have your cat weighed down. Just make sure the stitches aren’t big if giving to a small child. The pellets can slip through the holes and make for choking hazard. I wouldn’t give weighed toys to children under 5, but that’s my personal opinion.

This is NOT my pattern.
However, the creations below ARE aminekos I've made.

Under the Sea

"Under the sea. Under the sea. Darling it's better down where it's wetter, take it from me. Up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away. While we devotin', full time to floatin'. Under the sea."

I recently bought a pattern on etsy to make these adorable mermaids and this one here was my first creation using that pattern. I love making toys for my youngest daughter, so since she likes Ariel from the Little Mermaid, I thought I'd make her an Ariel inspired one. She looks more like the toddler version on the Little Mermaid with her pudgy belly and chubby cheeks. ❤

I have two more I made to sell. I'll post those later with Buy Now buttons in my 'for sale' page.

Finally, an actual post!

I've just been busy with life and going through some tough times and I've slowed down on my amigurumi. Plus, I've been making Angry Bird beanies for my cousin's boys.

So, after a dry amigurumi spell, I concocted the idea of making a zombie amineko! I love zombies! I think it would be hard for me to kill them in a zombie apocalypse, but damn, it would be so much fun! 😉

Without further ado, here is BRAINna, the zombie girl amineko! She is adorable in her little jumper and boot.

Check out the details of the brain and eyeball!

Sorry

It's been a while since I last posted here. I apologize. I just haven't worked on any amigurumi as of lately. It's been character beanies and a scarf. I'm itching to making toys again.

I'll be working on a Hobbes, a few of the minions from Despicable Me, and some other projects I hope to sell.

Until then, have a stitchy day!

My FIRST custom piece, no pattern.

I am patting my back and popping my collar. This Oregon Duck made for my girl, Kelli is my ver first custom piece made. Not just that, I DIDN'T USE A PATTERN! I just used a picture and went by eye.

I am honestly proud of how it turned out. Thanks for the challenge, KJ!

Orders, orders, and more orders!

Since I can't edit the sidebar queue, I think this is easier.

Done:
Cat, pup, and bunny for Yvonne (awaiting payment)
Giraffe and Oregon State duck for Kelli (awaiting payment)

On my hook:
Hobbes for Joe
3 T-Rex and a Hello Kitty beanie for Jorge

Queue:
Lalaloopsy for Blanca (?)
Ferret for Keri

So behind!

I've been behind in posting, I'm disappointed in myself. Not too much because I haven't posted, but because I've been slow on orders and I keep saying yes, when I should be saying no! It's just hard for me to say no. I'm extremely flattered that someone would want something crocheted by me, that I just can't say no!

Anyway, here is something else I worked on for an order. It's a giraffe. I made one ages ago, so I was up to making another for my friend, Kelli. It's so darn cute, I don't want to let it go, haha.

Popsicle, anyone?

Today, after working on repetitive projects, I decided to break from them and make something else just for fun. So thanks to Jennygurumi's free pattern for this cute popsicle, I decided to make my own. My daughter loves neapolitan ice cream, so I made her Amineko cat a treat.

Check out Jenny's pattern here if you would like to make your own: http://jennygurumi.tumblr.com/post/42753812369/valentines-day-popsicle-amigurumi-free-pattern

How mice of you!

Upon completing my friend Cheryl's cats, she suggested I make a mouse filled with catnip. I love a challenge, so I went ahead and complied. Here is mousie, all filled with catnip.

Sushi, anyone?

Last night, after I finished a friend's order, I started on another. After a while, it gets boring...making the same thing over and over. So, in between, I always make something else to get me back into the fun of it. Not that making orders isn't fun, but honestly, it's more fun when you make things just because.

I had made a sushi roll earlier which I made for my Uva, my Amineko cat. All these ideas started rushing in to my head! So when I was done with Cher's order, I made a couple more 'sushi' items. I made an onigiri, and a prawn, along with some wasabi. Man, I wanted to make so much more, but I started feeling tired and just took pictures, haha.

So here it is, my sushi alone and with three hungry cats.
